Five Video Clips from India

by Nucleya

The popularity of dubstep and global bass music in India is growing from day to day. One of the early proponents of the scene is bass music producer Nucleya from New Delhi. For Norient he compiled five video clips from his country that will give you a short insight into some current electronic sounds between the Himalayas and Mumbai.

Koocha Monster EP by Nucleya (available for free download via bandcamp)

Artist: Sickflip & TheOutboxProject
Track: The Ladakh Project

One of the up & coming producers in the Indian glitch/bass music scene. Based in Mumbai, I really dig this new release of his. It was composed in Ladakh a cold desert north of the Himalayas and the video was shot there as well. Really nice balance between ambience and bass.

Artist: Sandunes feat. Siddharth Basrur
Track: Good To You

Sandunes is a relatively new up & coming producer from Mumbai. She studied music production in London and that UK sound is definitely present in her tunes. I especially like the synth textures she uses and the tonality of her bass lines.

Artist: Dualist Inquiry
Track: Exile

I have seen this song go over really big with the college crowd when I am playing shows with Dualist Inquiry. He is a super talented producer and has a very unique sound that stands out as his own. Cool video also shot at one of our favourite venues in India – High Spirits in Pune.

Artist: Su Real
Track: Mechasiva

This is a remix track by my friend and fellow based producer Su Real. I am really loving the sound he is coming with nowadays. In my mind it is a perfect mix of trap and twerk but in an indian style. Enough Indian elements in the mix but the beat is essentially based in hip-hop & trap. This is going to be a big tune for the festival season.

Artist: Nucleya
Track: Akkad Bakkad (Festival Remix)

My track «Akkad Bakkad» had been out for a while and was doing pretty well at large shows. I decided to reinterpret it with this version of the mix and put a video together using a lot of live footage from the festivals I was playing. Big shoutout to all the friends/musicians/crew that appear in this video, the last year wouldn't have been possible without them!
