When Black Politics Meets Dance

- CET
Live
Kenya, Switzerland
Cafete, Reitschule Bern

Black House and dance music take center stage at our first Norient Festival night in the Cafete, Reitschule Bern. Zurich-based collective BLKSHFT and Nairobi’s boundary-questioning DJ Coco Em lead us through sounds and genres like Chicago House or Detroit Techno that are deeply rooted in Black musical traditions and histories. To understand the power of this music, one must connect with its roots – and that’s what this night is all about. The evening opens with a short talk before rhythms and beats take over. Where politics meets dance, energy flows far beyond the club.
