Inner Station Soil
In this photo series we explore the Israeli underground scene around experimental sound artists such as Meira Asher or David Opp. Portrayed in their home environments the photos show these artists in connection or disconnection from the region they live in. A photo series by Laetitia Boulud from the Norient book and exposition Seismographic Sounds (see and order here).

For this series, I photographed Israeli sound artists in their home environments. Layering their portraits over separate landscapes allowed me to place them in connection to or disconnection from the region. I shot them outside of their studios, stripped from their work spaces and comfort zones. The goal was to observe them in solitude and force their gazes inward.
Artists photographed: Meira Asher, Haggai Fershtman, David Oppenheim / David Opp, Eran Sachs / ZA.
This photo series was published first in the second Norient book Seismographic Sounds.

Loneliness can feel like isolation, but can also be a positive solitude by keeping distance from the worlds’ chaos.
Place remains important. Either for traditional minorities such as the Chinese Lisu or hyper-connected techno producers.
