Norient City Sounds (NCS) is a multimedia series of virtual exhibitions and digital publications. It explores and communicates the musics and sounds of cities around the world. Each edition of NCS is presented as a so-called Special on Norient. It consists of podcasts, photo series, shorter and longer articles, virtual soundwalks, audiovisual artworks (snaps), annotated music videos, topical playlists (video and/or music), and more. NCS puts the focus on cities, as a space that generates and shapes music and sound, but also alters and sometimes even precludes them. NCS allows for a virtual trip to a city in times where physical and individual traveling is increasingly complex and thrown into question.
