–Mannheim (DE)The audiovisual online exhibition asks critical questions about the current state of Orientalism. Norient invited international curators and authors from the Norient community to research contemporary music videos from Turkey, Lebanon, Saudi-Arabia, Iran, Central Asia and South Asia, and to re-imagine, parody, or deconstruct Orientalism.
Berlin (DE)On March 5, 2020, Norient officially releases the new and forward-looking Norient Space «The Now In Sound»: a virtual, transdisciplinary gallery and community platform at the juncture of art, journalism, and cutting-edge research.
–This PhD project by Hannes Liechti investigates sampling strategies in (experimental) underground electronic pop music and aims to contribute to a greater «Ethnography of Sampling» in music which still has to be written.
–Gais (CH)Klang Moor Schopfe: Das Audio-Festival macht zeitgenössische Klangkunst hör- und erlebbar. Die zweite Edition bringt vom 30. August bis 8. September 2019 situations- und ortsbezogene Installationen nationaler und internationaler Kunstschaffender, Soundtüftler und Tonkünstlerinnen nach Gais AR.
