Norient Forum 2027: Call for Two Residencies
Are you a writer, podcaster, photographer, filmmaker or creator who explores today's world through music and sound? Then join the first Norient Forum, a new format by Norient, the Bern-based platform for music, art, journalism, and research. We offer two three-week residencies in Bern around the Forum, from 1 to 19 March 2027. Find out how to apply.
What the Forum is About
From March 11 to 13, 2027, the first Norient Forum brings together in Bern international journalists, researchers and artists whose work opens up new paths: films, photo reportage, podcasts and multidisciplinary formats that engage multiple senses and are accessible without oversimplifying. The guests work towards fair forms of collaboration across disciplines, generations and continents. In public workshop sessions, the Forum asks: How can we speak to one another beyond our own circles? How can we keep reaching people when public conversation is increasingly shaped by algorithmic platforms, AI and political polarisation?
What Your Role Will Be
During the three-week residency from 1 to 19 March 2027, you co-host the Forum and co-produce with the Norient team a digital publication: Manuals for the Future, guides drawn from practice and dialogues at the Forum, published in September 2027. We meet online beforehand; afterwards, you finish the Manuals with us remotely (around two working weeks).
