Against a background of political, social, and economic tensions ahead of a momentous general election set for 2022. What is the lived experience of Nairobi’s artists during this period? Can you hear it in the music? It is the first in a proposed series of Norient Online Specials focusing on selected cities around the world dubbed «Norient City Sounds». The feature (release on May 6, 16:00 CET) curated by Raphael Kariuki and Kamwangi Njue comprises three podcasts, a set of essays, commissioned street photography, a short video, sound art, original music, and a mixtape.
