How Sound Becomes Collective
«The echo is how sound becomes collective.»
This quote is from Zahra Malkani’s essay to beat, to burn, published on the Rewire website. The quote is part of the Norient Special Where Sound Becomes Witness, a publication in collaboration with Rewire Festival 2025. It assembles essays and audio pieces that explore how sound can cut through the noise to bear witness, inspire solidarity, and reimagine our shared reality. Curated and edited by Philipp Rhensius and Katía Truijen.
