A Listener in a Subversive Way
What are the biggest conflicts / pleasures you encounter when curating?
Curating to me personally means to think about the possibilities of listening as an agent of change. So first of all to be a listener in a subversive way, then curating means to take care of contexts, knowledge, existing boundaries, of visibilities, and invisibilities. The best thing for me is a moment of real coming together – of species, humans, sounds – to have a collective, transformative listening experience.
This quotation has been published in the Norient book Politics of Curatorship: Collective and Affective Interventions, edited by Philipp Rhensius and Monia Acciari (Norient Books 2023).
