THE POLITICS OF CURATORSHIP @ jazzhane festival
From July 4 to July 6, jazzhane festival presents new music from the Silk Road and beyond at the Rote Fabrik in Zurich, Switzerland. Norient willl will be on a panel discussion on the Politics of Curatorship. Palestinian filmmaker, writer, journalist, and cultural activist Rami Younis, who co-founded and manage the first-ever Palestine Music Expo that connects the local Palestinian music scene to the worldwide music industry, will discuss with Norient founder and director Thomas Burkhalter on new approaches for a more diverse and equality in curatorship, as he suggest in the latest Norient anthology Politics of Curatorship. The panel discussion will be moderated by Bassma El Adisey, curator at the Aargauer Kunsthaus and Contemporary Art Histories lecturer at the F+F School for Art and Media Design in Zurich.
Spanning over three days, jazzhane festival hosts open-air and indoor concerts, dj sets, music workshops, panel discussions, and visual sonic lectures with artists from Gaddani, Karachi, Istanbul, Aarau, Zurich, Bern, Lugano, Haifa, Lyd, Öresund, Berlin, and more.
