Suvani Suri portrait

Suvani Suri is a practitioner based in New Delhi, India. Her artistic and research inquiries are focused on sound, listening, voicing, aural/oral archives, acoustic ecologies and technologies of sound. Her questions often take the form of curatorial propositions, assemblies, workshops, publications, podcasts, auditory texts, objects, installations, live and discursive interventions.

Suvani’s works and ideas have been presented at Centro NAVE, Museo del Sonodo, Listening Biennial, Dystopie Sound Art Biennale, Singapore Art Museum, Serendipity Arts Festival, Kunsthalle Bern, Khoj Studios, Kochi-Muziris Biennale, Foundation for Indian Contemporary Art FICA, amongst others. She has worked on curatorial projects with The Listening Biennial, Liquid Architecture (Melbourne), Students Biennale (Kochi-Muziris Biennale 2022). Alongside, she has recently set in motion the project Uncanny Stations – an axis, frame and scene of co-listening and thinking. As a Curator at large with Norient, she is interested in exploring diverse sonic practices and producing situations for experimental formats and associative scenes to unfold across geographical and cultural contexts.
