Curating Means Being Unreasonable
What is most important to you when curating?
To be aware that what I am doing is not the most important. And to have fun.
What are the biggest conflicts / pleasures you encounter when curating?
The moments when I take myself seriously. Meeting and listening to people, traveling, reading and thinking on trains are part of my job. So lucky I am. I love it. Right now, on a Saturday evening, I am on the way to Zurich to see a band before I invite them to our Kilbi festival. This is important. Being confident that unimportant things can make it a difference.
What does curating mean to you?
It is my neverending mixtape. Letting things happen by chance. Listening to boring days. Doing phone calls. Hi everybody! Select music. Joking. Changing the cap. Being unreasonable somehow. Feeding our cat. It is about creating relation between an audience and the music. Unlearn and forget and do it again in a different way. Merci!
