Dianne Violeta Mausfeld has studied Latin American Studies at the University of Cologne. In her PhD dissertation she is exploring the history of Latino and Chicano rap in Los Angeles. Focusing on space and transculturality in musical productions during the 1980s and 1990s, she combines ethnography with critical source evaluation. Her research is part of the SNF-project «Hip-Hop as a Transcultural Phenomenon» at the University of Bern, supervised by Prof. Christian Büschges and Prof. Britta Sweers.
