Sandra Pereira

Sandra Pereira is based in Porto. Shaped early on by a deep love for music and art, she studied jazz singing at Centro de Estudos em Música (CETM) alongside a degree in Communication. She did a music production course at Restart, a Master’s in Art and Sound Technologies at Escola Superior de Música e Artes do Espetáculo (ESMAE), and has teaching certificates in Portuguese and English as Foreign Languages. She has created and runs an interactive language course website and teaches Portuguese and English to foreign learners.

Sandra has published an EP on the label Sonospace under the artist name Narsadia, rooted in field recordings and sound design, alongside research on a case study investigating the underrepresentation of gender in sound technologies in Portugal, one of the first of its kind in the country. Between 2014 and 2016 she was involved in the programming and managing of a cultural cooperative. In 2016, Sandra served as communication manager for Jardins Efémeros (ephemeral gardens), a multidisciplinary cultural happening in her hometown Viseu. She continues to develop work at the intersection of music, technology and education. Follow her on Instagram and Bandcamp.
