Subhadra Kamath
Subhadra Kamath is a musician, teacher, arts based facilitator. She has been working in theater, music, and expressive arts with young people from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds, and marginalized environments. She has composed and fronted bands such as Fire Exit (est. 2007) Tankbund (est. 2010) and The Yellow Bucket (est. 2013). She was awarded the Jack Daniels Award for Best Female Vocalist in 2012 and apart from singing and songwriting, she plays the bass and keyboard. She is passionate about harmonies and has sung backing vocals with several acts in the city including Advaita, The Artistes Unlimited, Them Clones, Faridkot, Prateek Kuhad, Tanmaya Bhatnagar and Taba Chake to name a few, apart from her own bands.
Subhadra also works in the theater and has performed with the ensemble of The Legend of Ila and Three Hearings on the Existence of Snakes in the Human Bloodstream between 2016 and 2020, and with Crow Experiences since 2022. As an educator, she has been teaching voice, musicality, and songwriting with the One World College of Music and been associated with Global Music Institute and Music Basti. Currently she works with the Aagaaz Theatre Trust.
