Sophie Grobler is a singer in Berlin. She grew up in Potsdam and was encouraged early on in voice training, on the concert guitar and on the piano. From 2006 she studied jazz singing in Weimar at the Franz Liszt College of Music with Jeff Cascaro and Michael Schiefel. Grobler has received several awards for her music and has been appointed to professional juries. She was a member of Bobby McFerrin’s vocal ensemble Slixs & Friends with which she also toured Europe. As a soloist, Grobler has performed in China, South Korea, Spain, Poland, Italy, Switzerland, and Belarus. As a member of the Rangarang Choir, she’ll be singing songs in Persian for the first time at Klangteppich. Festival for music of the Iranian diaspora in 2021.
