Im März 1988 entstand im ehemaligen Pferdestall der Berner Reitschule ein Kino. Über der Bar schwebt die Projektionskabine, über die Leinwand flimmern Filmreihen zu politisch aktuellen Themen und experimentelles Filmschaffen und es finden Gastveranstaltungen von Aktivist*innen, NGOs und Festivals statt. Gelebte Willkommenskultur ohne Konsumzwang, getragen von einem engagierten Kollektiv und – und Geburtsort des Norient Festivals im Jahr 2010.

In March 1988, a cinema was founded in the former horse stable of Reitschule in Bern. Above the bar floats the projection booth, and films flicker across the screen,  hosting series about relevant political issues, experimental filmmaking, and guest events by activists, NGOs, and festivals.The Kino in der Reitschule represents a lived culture of welcome without the pressure to consume, sustained by an engaged collective, and in 2010, was the birthplace of the Norient Festival.
