Jenny Tang is a PhD student in History of Art and Film and Media Studies at Yale University researching the history and theory of the cross-cultural avant-garde. She is (as Stuart Hall once put it) just trying to understand what making an ethical political choice in an open and contingent field is like, and what sort of «politics» it might add up to.
