Rebecca Favale is a Ph.D. candidate in musicology and ethnomusicology at the University of Milan, researching transformative recording practices in popular music. At Norient, she is the web editor and a Norient Festival organizer. Her research interests include ethnomusicology, sound studies, and the sociology of music. She is also a founding member of the ITER Research Ensemble, a research-led choir that conducts choral research, active in both performance and academic settings. Additionally, she collaborates with NoMus, an association dedicated to the study and promotion of 20th-century and contemporary music.
In 2024, she earned an MA in musicology from the University of Pavia. She participated in the Venice Biennale College in 2023 and 2024 for a project called Writing about Music, Writing in Residence.
