Leila Dee Dougan has worked as a journalist for the past six years in cities around the world including Los Angeles, Johannesburg and Havana, Cuba. She’s written articles and produced documentaries for media outlets The Daily Maverick, Carte Blanche, Africa is a Country and GroundUp, to name a few.

Leila graduated from Rhodes University in 2009, and was awarded a Pulitzer Fellowship in 2012, which saw her complete her MA at the University of Southern California (USC). She is currently living in Cape Town South Africa, working as a writer and filmmaker.
