Francesca Ceccherini
Francesca Ceccherini is a curator and PhD candidate in Visual and Media Studies at IULM University in Milan, where her research focuses on the relationship between artistic practices and trauma. She is the founder of OTO Sound Museum and has been a member of the curatorial collective Zaira Oram in Switzerland since 2020, after her graduation in Advanced Studies in Curating at ZHdK Zürcher Hochschule der Künste.
Over time, she has curated exhibitions in museums and institutions, developing transdisciplinary projects with artists, curators, and researchers from different fields of study. In 2024, Pro Helvetia Cairo Liaison awarded the Co-creation Prize to Eart_ض, a sonic research project developed by Zaira Oram and Qanat collective between Switzerland and Morocco. More recently, she conducted a curatorial research project in India titled Co-listening: Sound Practices and Processes of Repair from the Indian Subcontinent, supported by the Directorate-General for Contemporary Creativity of the Italian Ministry of Culture under the Italian Council program. Her projects have been presented at Kochi-Muziris Biennale (Kochi, India), Haus der Kunst (Munich), Ars Electronica (Linz), Biennale Son (Sion), Kunsthalle Winterthur (Winterthur), Casino Luxembourg – Forum d’Art Contemporain (Luxembourg), Kunst Halle Sankt Gallen (St. Gallen), Kunsthalle Vebikus (Schaffahausen), Johann Jacobs Museum (Zurich), Careof (Milano), Fondazione Pastificio Cerere (Roma), and GAMeC - Galleria d'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea (Bergamo).
