Eran Livni researches the politics of commercial pop in the Balkans and the Middle East. He defended and is finalizing his dissertation on Bulgarian chalga music (Communication and Culture, Indiana University, Bloomington). He teaches ethnography of communication and anthropology of global popular music at Old Dominion University, Norfolk, Virginia.
