Elizabeth Clendinning
Elizabeth Clendinning is a PhD Candidate in Ethnomusicology at Florida State University. She received a MM in Musicology from Florida State in 2009 with a thesis on music, nostalgia, and cultural memory in the music of the children’s television show Sesame Street. In addition to ongoing interests in music and popular media, she is currently finishing her dissertation on performance, pedagogy and community in the international Balinese gamelan performing arts scene. She will be Visiting Instructor of Ethnomusicology and leader of the gamelan ensemble at Emory University for the 2013–2014 academic year.
