Focused Listening on Soundwalk

Quotation
by Anna Khvyl

«During focused listening on soundwalks we can sink our attention into the depths of the sounds, enjoying all the richness of the sounds that surround us.»

This quote is taken from the master thesis «Composing for Spaces of Remembarance. Sound and Decolonial Resistance in War Commemoration» by Anna Khvyl. The quote is a  part of the Norient Special When the Sound Listens Back, a publication in collaboration with Rewire Festival 2024. It assembles essays and audio pieces reflecting ideas about the importance of listening beyond one’s ear, its ethics, and critical potential. Curated and edited by Philipp Rhensius and Katía Truijen.
