Abhishek Mathur is a music producer, sound designer and researcher based out of New Delhi, India and teaches music production at the Sri Aurobindo Centre for Arts and Communication. He is the guitar player with the popular contemporary-fusion band Advaita and also releases music under his solo dream pop project Plan 17.

Abhishek is a founding member of Synth Hang, a collective working to build a community and knowledge sharing with experimental musicians and sound artists in the city. As a researcher, he is deeply interested in the living cultural histories of musical forms which exist outside the mainstream. In 2025 he published his first academic paper on the subject of Indian wedding brass bands in the Journal of World Popular Music.
