Amit Dutta  (*1977, Indien) ist einer der erfolgreichsten experimentellen Filmemacher seines Landes. Dutta hat mehr als 40 Filme realisiert und sechs Bücher veröffentlicht. Seine Arbeiten reichen von literarischen Adaptionen, Fiktion und Dokumentationen über Video-Tagebücher bis hin zu Animation, wobei er häufig Genres verwischt, um direkt mit seinen Themen in Dialog zu treten. Für seine Filme erhielt er zahlreiche Auszeichnungen, darunter den FIPRESCI-Preis für seinen Kurzfilm To Be Continued (2007) in Oberhausen sowie eine Sonderauszeichnung der Jury für seinen ersten Spielfilm The Man’s Woman and Other Stories (2009) in Venedig.
