Simon Reynolds, author of the series «The Hardcore Continuum» in the music magazine The Wire, reads the history of the advanced London club culture of the 1990s as based on the same formula: Reggae, Dub, Rap, R&B and Eurodance, mixed in different quantities. This led to Ardcore (Hardcore Techno, Hardcore Rave), Jungle, Drum’n’Bass, Garage, Two-Step, Grime, Dubstep and UK Funky.
In the last months «The Hardcore Continuum» became criticized in some conferences. The new online journal Dancecult offers Simon Reynolds now a platform to put his message straight. A great read.
