Zehn Jahre nach Ende des Bürgerkriegs in Sierra Leone legen die Sierra Leone’s Refugee All Stars ihr bislang reifstes Album vor. Die Band hatte sich in einem der vielen Flüchtlingslager in Guinea gegründet, tourte mit dem gleichnamigen Dokumentarfilm um die Welt und produzierte jetzt mit dem berühmten Afrobeat-Produzenten Victor Axelrod in Brooklyn. Stimmen und Instrumente wurden mit analogen Mikrophonen, Verstärkern und Aufnahmegeräten aus den 1970er Jahren eingefangen. Die Musik mischt Afrobeat, Soukous, Highlife, Dub, Soul und Reggae in wunderbaren Soundnoten.
