Lebanese musicians Radwan Ghazi Moumneh (Jerusalem In My Heart) and Charbel Haber (Scrambled Eggs) were the guests of Ruptures on Monday 4 April, to present the 11th edition of the Irtijal Festival of Experimental Music, which took place in Beirut in various locations between April 5-8.

Ziad Nawfal is a DJ, radio show host, independent music producer and music critic. He worked for a number of years in Beirut’s alternative record shop La CD-Thèque and its sister label, Incognito Productions. Starting in 2006, he began flirting with music production and management, producing an album for Lebanese punk rock band Scrambled Eggs, as well as three EP’s for electronica outfit Munma. Nawfal has been regularly hosting live performances by Lebanese folk, rock, electro-pop and noise performers on the Ruptures show for Radio Liban 96.2FM, and started releasing these on CD format in 2009. He lives and works in Beirut.
Austrian-born with Lebanese origins, Tanya Traboulsi spent her childhood traveling back and forth between the two countries. While in Austria, she completed high school and graduated from university with a diploma in fashion design. Soon after, she started developing a growing interest in photography. She is currently based in Beirut. Tanya describes her work as a documentation of emotions and intimacy. In her photographs, she seeks to create a trigger for thoughts or moods, and encourages her audience to formulate its own interpretation. Her work has been exhibited internationally in both solo and group shows, and her photographs have appeared in several notable prints such as AD France, Brownbook, Chicago Tribune, Colors Magazine, Los Angeles Times, Monocle, The Observer, The Wire and others. Her body of work documenting the Lebanese alternative music scene was assembled in the 2010 publication ‘Untitled Tracks: On Alternative Music in Beirut’. Tanya is represented by Art Factum Gallery.
