Miriam Gazzah
Dr. Miriam Gazzah is a Cultural Anthroplogist that lives and works in the Netherlands. She is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Amsterdam Institute for Social Science Research (AISSR) at the University of Amsterdam, working within the NWO (Cultural Dynamics) funded research programme ‘Islamic Cultural Performances: New Youth Cultures in Europe’: the topic of her research project is ‘From ethnicity to Islam? Moroccan/ Muslim music scenes in the Netherlands’. She published articles on Moroccon Youth, Rap and Identity in the Netherlands. The title of her dissertation was ‘Rhythms and Rhymes of Life: Music and Identification Processes of Dutch-Moroccan Youth’. (2008, Amsterdam University Press) – Download PDF Here
