Alison Fensterstock is a New Orleans-based music writer, and the researcher for the Where They At: New Orleans Hip-Hop and Bounce in Words and Pictures multimedia exhibit (www.wheretheyatnola.com), for which she conducted about 60 hours of oral histories with pioneering New Orleans rappers and DJs. Her writing has appeared in MOJO, Paste, Spin, Q, the Oxford American, Vibe and other publications. She is currently a contributing writer at the New Orleans Times-Picayune.
